NEPM: Mapleline Farm

 

This week, Kaliis, Monte, and Phil meet the cows and people behind Mapleline Farm, a 120 year old dairy farm that’s a pillar of our local food community. They learn about: 

  • Their adorable jersey cows who produce 1,000,000+ gallons of milk each year
  • How Jersey cow milk is different – it’s “A2A2,” which is often more digestible
  • Why the decision to bottle and market their own milk (rather than selling it to a distributor like Cabot or Agrimark) was difficult but well worth it.
