Workshop: Late Winter, Hoophouse Magic

This hands-on, food farming workshop, presented by Laughing Dog Farm manager Danny Botkin, focuses on the practical details of winter/spring ‘hoophouse” horticulture as well as the design/ construction and management of high and low tunnel greenhouses, crop selection, soil building, harvesting and processing tips, etc. There will be a detail-heavy class on cold weather botany and growing crops under cover, a narrated hoophouse tour, a demonstration of LDF’s homemade, pipe (EMT conduit) bender, used to make low-tunnel, steel “hoops”, Q and A… plus a shared, vegetarian farm lunch around the wood stove…
