SNAP Retailer Sign-Up Event

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and the Mass Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) are hosting a SNAP retailer sign-up day to get you ready to accept SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps) at your farm stand, farmers’ market booth, and through your CSA program. USDA, DTA and MDAR staff will be on site to assist you with your application and answer questions.

At this drop-in information session you can get your farm authorized for SNAP and receive your USDA FNS number the very same day.

Please bring copies of the following documents from all principal business owners, which will be attached to your application:

  1. Picture ID (driver’s license or passport).
  2. Social Security Card (or other official document with your name and SSN, ex: a past year’s tax return).
  3. Copy of voided check for bank account you will use to deposit funds

A copy of your most recent tax return is useful as well, but will not be collected with your application.

Non-profit and government owned/operated farms and farmers’ markets require some additional documentation – find more information here.

You’ll also have a chance to learn about grant opportunities to cover costs associated with getting an EBT reader for use at your farm stand and/or farmers’ market booth.
