Farmer, educator and activist Daniel Botkin is an avid organic gardener and micro-farmer who recognizes the timeliness of ultra-productive, four-season, permaculture-style food gardens in our current and future food equation. Daniel left a 20+ year career teaching and counseling to steward and develop Laughing Dog Farm on a lovely and historic hilltop, once the site of a well-known commune. With the help of seasonal volunteers, Daniel and his family have operated a small CSA and sold gourmet produce, flowers and seeds at the local farmers market. They mentor on-farm interns and teach classes on goat husbandry, hoop-houses, winter growing, seed saving, and essential food processing.
