Most people who preserve local food are familiar with this problem: you have 10 pints of homemade strawberry jam in your pantry, and all you want is some blueberry jam for your toast.

Solution: come to the barter market at Northampton Winter Fare with some of your excess home-preserved foods and swap with your neighbors!

This is a wonderful and fun way to revitalize your pantry, get to know some fellow preservers, and trade a few secrets as well. It's casual, and there's a magical multiplying effect where everyone leaves with more than they brought.
